Olivia Edwards.
About me

I would describe myself as a straight-talking perfectionist which I think are two very useful skills to have in the construction industry.

After graduating from Chelsea College of Art and Design in 2014 with a degree in Interior and Spatial Design, I started my career at a small design-and-build studio in Shoreditch, specialising in bar and restaurant fit-outs. That was where I really found my passion for hospitality design. Since then, I have gone on to lead my own projects as a creative lead and to freelance with a wide range of clients across the design and construction industry. Along the way, I have had the opportunity to work on projects including Simpsons in the Strand, Carbone London, BAM Karaoke, Louis Manchester, Nobu Portman Hotel, and several high-end residential schemes for private clients.

You could say that design is in my genes.

William Edwards (1719-1789), my great grandfather’s great grandfather, taught himself the fundamentals of masonry and was commissioned to build a bridge over the River Taff in Wales at the age of 27. After several attempts over a period of seven years, he eventually succeeded in creating Pontypridd Bridge, the first single span traffic bridge in the world, and went on to build further bridges across south Wales.

And my grandfather, Vivian Edwards, was an engineer for over 60 years before retiring at the age of 84. He planned steel works in Mexico, New Zealand and Iran, and won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for his works on the London Underground’s Jubilee Line.
